After Youth Alive beneficiaries have completed school, and for some young people who are too old to start school, we support apprenticeships. The beneficiaries can chose whichever trade they are most interested in. For example, they may choose hairdressing, carpentry, masonry, dressmaking or welding, and Youth Alive will place them with one of our network of master artisans, providing years of top class tuition.
Youth Alive pays reduced fees, arranged with the master artisans, for the apprentices' tuition for three years, and gives each apprentice his or her own set of work tools, a monthly stipend and laundry soap so that they can afford to leave "street" work.
Once apprentices have completed their training they are helped in business start up. Please click here to learn more.
