Our Target Groups are:

*Street children, categorized into 'children of the street', those who work and sleep on the street. 'Children on the street', those who work on the street but go back home at the close of the day to sleep (this category are in the majority).

*HIV/AIDs orphans: children whose parents died or are suffering from HIV/AIDs.

*Disabled children.

We have added a special video to this page to help you understand our work. Note about the below video: On the day of the graduating ceremony, Peter (member of YA staff) is delivering training certificates and tools to the succesful trainees, all of them ex-street children supported by Youth Alive. The graduates are given tools and a stipend to help them start with their new trades. Follows a few examples of Youth Alive beneficiaries who have all been sucessful in establishing their own trade workshops. All of them used to live on the street and are now supporting families and relatives and are themselves employing and training other apprentices, recruted through the Youth Alive programme.

Eligibility:

In-depth social investigations are conducted into the background of the children and their families to ensure that they are genuine needy children. To be on the street, an HIV/AIDs orphan or a disabled child alone does not qualify one for support. There must be evidence through social investigations that the child comes from a very poor background or has no one to take care of her/him.
