creating livelihoods

Usually after three years, depending on the trade, the beneficiaries will be ready to graduate. We have a graduation ceremony each year - it is a big celebration! Youth Alive helps the graduates to set up their own businesses, providing some financial support, tools, materials for the workplace structure and advice.

Not only is it fantastic to see the achievements of our beneficiaries, many have built very successful businesses; in turn they can take on new beneficiaries as apprentices thereby ensuring the sustainability of our programmes.

Sometimes the most appropriate help Youth Alive can offer to children is to help their families. Youth Alive may, in such cases, provide small business set-ups with the families/guardians of our children to enable them to provide for the children and the whole family.
